Previously, Michelle worked as a teacher of Biology, Physics and AP Physics for Jonesboro Public Schools in Jonesboro, Arkansas. In this position, she not only worked collaboratively with teams of teachers to align instruction to state standards but also oversaw the development of the school improvement plan. Michelle also worked as a Science teacher for Pittsburgh Public Schools and Pleasant Valley Schools in the Poconos in Northeastern Pennsylvania. In these positions, she collaboratively worked with teacher teams to differentiate instruction in order to meet the needs of diverse populations and worked to develop cross-curricular units with teacher teams.
Michelle holds a M.S. in Educational Administration, Secondary Principal and Supervisor of Curriculum grades 8-12 from East Stroudsburg University in Pennsylvania. She also received her B.S. in Secondary Science Education from The Pennsylvania State University and a Masters of Biology degree from East Stroudsburg University.
Since 2003, Michelle has served as an Assistant Principal of teaching and learning for Westerville City Schools and most recently for Olentangy Local Schools. She works with staff members on developing and understanding the practice of formative and summative assessments in their own classrooms. Michelle currently uses the Seven Strategies of Assessment for Learning by Jan Chappuis to provide job embedded professional development throughout the district and in Align, Assess, Achieve trainings.
Michelle loves riding horses and spending time with her husband and two young boys.
